This is really enchantingly beautiful!!! But I think the composition for the 'mother' whale is not good enough because she looked more like an inanimated object (like a sunken ship that looks like a whale). She also lacks the movement and dynamism of the 'baby' whale. Painting-wise, the same-mentioned whale is flat when compared to its younger counterpart.

But the rest is simply wickedly cool!!!

Impressive!
I have to agree with jeromoo, though. In fact, you might want to crop some of it out.
It worked better for me when I thought the mother's back was part of the bottom of the sea.... but then I scrolled down.
Anyway, I really like this one!

WOW!
i'd have to say that the water is amazing. that affect is astonishing. and the clouds are breath-taking. basically the top half of the piece deserves almost the "elite" title IMO.

but the mother whale, as jeromoo/jie have stated...or i think they're talking about that whale at least, isn't as amazing. it requires a bit of work, like reflection of light on it. or something of that sort. it just looks a bit empty.

other than that, overall, i give highest rating! amazing.

that's very good, but maybe the first whale we see takes a too big part in the pic...

anyway, amazing :)

Beautiful and it express a bifg sense of power. The lower whale could be cropped out in my opinion, helping the main event of the story to fullfill the eyes of the observer. Your technique is simple yet effective. It is a pleasure to find you in this community, made :)

Am I the only one who really likes the big whale? I also thought that the big whale was the bottom of the sea at first, then as I scrolled down... BOOM. I see it as a clever susprise element, the part that makes this picture unique.

uncle: don't be sorry when you don't mean it :) boris and many other phantasy painters teached a lot to a generation of young graphicians

for the colour stuff, i agree with you.
